As an example of Nampak's proactive approach to the
environment, the company is pleased to be a member of the
consortium elected by the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP
www.wrap.org.uk), to research their 'Development of the food grade HDPE recycling process' project.
The major aim of the project was to develop a cost-efficient recycling process to produce food-grade HDPE from post-consumer
recycling for new milk bottles. This was achieved through the world's first recycled content milk bottle on sale in Marks & Spencer's
organic milk bottle range with 10% recycled HDPE content. Now all retailers in the UK have over 10% recycled material in their plastic milk bottles.
