Successful First Year Brings £4 Million Investment and New Jobs 02/11/2009 Nampak Healthcare in Bradford, which prints cartons and patient information leaflets, is celebrating a successful first year following its acquisition by the Nampak Group, a leading global player in packaging for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Since it joined the Nampak Group at the end of last year, Storey Evans which has now been re-named Nampak Healthcare, has seen its turnover rise from £14 million to £19 million, with the creation of 30 new jobs.
Over £4 million has been invested in the Bradford site, with the purchase of a new Komori S40 press and a Heidelberg Diana Pro 114 straight line crash-lock gluing machine, as well as refurbishment of the factory and offices.
The Komori is already delivering a number of benefits including increased capacity of up to 15000 sheets an hour in six colours, with the options of coating and full UV specification. It also incorporates a pharmaceutical inspection system for quality control.
Gerard Harford, Nampak Healthcare Regional Director UK, said: “Becoming part of the global NampakGroup has brought the business a number of significant benefits. We have acquired extra business - now over £19m sales with major blue chip pharmaceutical customers - which has enabled us to create 30 new roles and give greater security to existing jobs.
“It has also enabled investment in state-of-the-art technology, putting us at the very forefront of our marketplace and enabling us to deliver the highest quality products to our customers, backed up by first class service. The change in name, in line with the Nampak Healthcare Division’s rebranding this Autumn, cements the integration process as we look to the future”.
Nampak Healthcare’s Bradford site is now the largest in the company’s Healthcare Division employing 210 people.
