Nampak moved the goal posts with its world first HDPE bottle with 10% rHDPE, and was recognised with a (UK) Starpack Gold award in 2007 for Best Use of Innovative Material. This award was presented to the core project team of Nampak, Nextek, WRAP and Dairy Crest.

The recycled content bottle also received worldwide recognition as a winner of a 2007 Worldstar packaging award. This was followed in 2008 by a Worldstar Sustainability Award – one of only two products in the world to win the award which recognises “extraordinary achievements in sustainable packaging”.

In 2009, Nampak Plastics won the 'Best Business Initiative' award at the ninth annual Plastics Industry Awards.  The Plastics Industry Awards are the industry’s most prestigious awards, recognising and celebrating achievement throughout the UK plastics industry.

Nampak’s entry highlighted the company’s development and successful promotion of a bespoke child-friendly HDPE bottle for school milk deliveries in South Wales.  This was in response to direct requests from schools for an environmentally-friendly alternative to cartons that were being used.

In 2010, Nampak Plastics received a ‘High Commendation’ Award in the prestigious Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) – Environmental Leadership Awards.

Competing in the ‘Product Premier Award’ category, the company received the award in recognition of its leadership in driving the major breakthrough in sustainable milk packaging through the manufacture of the world’s first recycled-content plastic milk bottle.
